So frustrating for people in Roscrea, Cloughjordan, Nenagh, Birdhill, Castleconnel to get this from @IrishRail. We don't get more services for St Patrick's festivities in Limerick, we get fewer - no services at all on Sunday, Monday morning or afternoon on bank holiday weekends.
No Limerick-Nenagh-Ballybrophy services will operate tomorrow morning Monday 06th January 2025. Due to poor road conditions there are no bus transfers available. This will be reviewed again tomorrow mid-morning. -AD @TFIupdates
78 people participated in the community train outing from Cloughjordan to Limerick on Ice today ! 27 adults 19 teens and 32 children. Thanks to @IrishRail for putting on an extra large train for our evening return trip. Great celebration of #Community and #RailTravel .
@LimerickCouncil@IrishRail@Buseireann@NTAActiveTravel@moranjohna1 We believe that the Limerick to Ballybrophy line, With additional stations, as proposed in the LSMATS has an important role to play in connecting Limerick to its hinterland in East Limerick & North Tipperary and we need Limericks elected mayor to push for quick wins.
@LimerickCouncil@IrishRail@Buseireann@NTAActiveTravel@moranjohna1 We asked them to look at providing services on bank holiday Sunday is, but we are still awaiting a reply. We have also asked what is the plans to close farmer, crossings and increased line speed is further from 50 mph to speeds of at least 70, which will cut journey times.
We don’t disagree with @RailUsersIe particularly with the point it never ends well for the passenger. In our case as a result of poor decision making, we had no AM services which is not acceptable. @IrishRail need to step up & ensure our services run despite disruption elsewhere
It’s another one of those evenings
1800 Dublin Cork failed at Monasterevin and as blocked all other trains
We have seen this scenario played out countless times and it never ends well for the passengers
@IrishRail@TFIupdates@EamonRyan is it acceptable to cancel the services as a knock on affect of the failure of 1800 Dublin - Cork service yesterday?
Poor management decision on rescuing the failed train results in no AM services - with 2 trains a day it’s not acceptable!
Please note: Today, the 06th of August.
Due to operational issues, the following service will operate as a bus transfers:
06.45 Limerick to Ballybrophy
09.00 Ballybrophy / Limerick

We hope to arrange a meeting with the Mayor in the near future, to see what support his office can offer to get more trains and the proposed new station on the Newport Road for Annacotty and the university as proposed in the LSAMTS!
Congratulations to @moranjohna1 in being inaugurated as Limericks first directly elected Mayor. He has an important role to play in delivering better public transport into Limerick- a quick win is to get the NTA to introduce more trains on our line from Limerick to Ballybrophy.
1/ We’re disappointed @IrishRail timetable consultation has no proposals to increase services. We’d like to encourage user to respond to it as it closes on Thursday & make it clear that no change is not good enough
