B2B Lead Generation: How to Get Clients on Social Media
https://t.co/FIUpfNYlUv
Most businesses don’t have a visibility problem; they have a conversion problem. If you want to use social media for B2B leads, you need to stop focusing on posting frequency and start focusing on commercial intent.
Check the video for more on this...
@tonyrestell Seems like madness. If they asked, out of curiosity, if this is a problem you bump up against then they've get you into a conversation rather than simply being ignored!
Funny thing about the "LinkedIn reach is dead" complaints.
They invariably come from someone with a massive following posting fairly generic advice.
The founders I work with in specific B2B niches? Reach is up. Some of them significantly.
LinkedIn changed who gets rewarded, and the people with real expertise in a defined space are winning.
@tonyrestell Definitely a factor for recruitment businesses. An agency that's dependent on the founder(s) to keep billings up is way riskier to buy into.
An important lesson for recruitment agency founders - don't chase vanity metrics, focus on the things that actually help secure new clients or make placements:
Most B2B founders are doing social media backwards.
Chasing views, followers, impressions. Numbers that look great in a screenshot. Never show up in revenue.
We surveyed nearly 200 B2B firms last year. Only 1 in 5 were getting regular client wins from social media. Actual signed clients.
The other 4 out of 5? Posting consistently, growing their audience, doing everything the playbook says. Getting nothing back.
What separated the 1 in 5?
They'd stopped broadcasting and started having conversations.
Content was a door-opener, not the destination. Someone comments, and within 24 hours there's a DM. A real conversation, not a pitch. "Saw your post about X, we're dealing with something similar."
That single shift was worth 6x more client wins in our data.
The part that surprised me: most of the firms winning clients had smaller audiences than the ones struggling. They weren't more visible. They were more intentional. Knew exactly who they wanted to reach, posted for that specific group, and followed up like a human being when someone engaged.
I've been running Social-Hire for over a decade and this pattern repeats every time. Founders who treat social as a lead gen channel get frustrated. Founders who treat it as a relationship channel get clients.
Posting 5 times a day with no follow-up is more work than posting 3 times a week and actually talking to the people who respond.
If your social media strategy isn't producing real conversations with potential clients, something's broken.
It's probably not the algorithm.
There's a myth in B2B that mass visibility drives leads.
We researched hundreds of B2B founders. Hardly any had won clients that way.
The ones winning? Building relationships with a modest number of ideal clients. Then making things happen in the DMs.
Did you realise that your social media posts - especially your LinkedIn posts - are now appearing very prominently in Google's AI search results?
