It's one of the only attempts that I've seen in this thread to actually coherently give a reason other than "lul, self defense". @gnukeith So, we learned about this in school growing up. Your esophagus makes contractions to essentially push the food down. Humans don't require gravity to consume nutrients. In theory you CAN swallow food hanging upside down. But on earth gravity does then fight your body.
