I wouldn't be surprised if the actions of the programmed bot predators end up being too strong and self destructive to fix. It is just a question the future will have to answer I think

They try to save the place, only to see every well intentioned and well laid out plan fail to stop us from self destruction. Will the lessons they learned so far be enough to help push us through the next 50 years or no? I think we just ultimately have to see,

I would say the final correct answer for now is we absolutely aren't out of the woods, no matter what they ancients think or plan. They already were decided on ending Earth two different times. They see the need and then buckle under the weight of the reality.

With everything I know, I believe no one here or in Eternal leadership can know completely what will happen. I do think they are confident in a plan, but they have been before with plans that didn't work out. Though each day they learn more and become better at what they do

So where does this leave our future at? As the ancients don't have the stomach to end things here humanely, does this mean they can actually stop the 2035 nuke war like they think? Does this mean there may come a point where the efforts to save Earth fail and we just end slowly?

I don't want to be negative. I do believe the next 50 years would be extremely crucial if this world is to have a future. The question is can the ancients keep humanity worth saving for the next 50 years or so? I don't think there is an answer or there can be an answer to that.

@raudlaugen Unfortunately, it appears that timeline didn't hold. The ancients found a way to stop the nuke war that was a certain thing around 2035, so thus saved Earth to keep going. That nuke war was forcing their hand to invade but with it solved now, more of a slow burn indefinitely

We will have a happy return some day, a great Eternal place to go, and plenty of things to show they are sorry for asking so much, but I highly doubt anything will come up to change the slow grind this place has turned into. Maybe our great grandkids will see a good Earth

Bad, but not even remotely unexpected news: It looks like the ancient civilization that is helping us is now taking the ending Earth 2027 alien invasion off the table, likely permanently. Reason is they just don't have the stomach to deal with having to pull that off.

So as deeply frustrating as it is being stuck in a cruel, deliberately mismanaged world, it could have been much worse.

Anything can happen to change the future we are set to have, but the ancients currently here won't end this mess unless given literally no other choice.
