This line from Atomic Habits isn't ready to leave my head:
"It doesn't make sense to continue wanting something if you're not willing to do what it takes to get it. If you don't want to live the lifestyle, then release yourself from the desire. To crave the result but not the process is to guarantee disappointment."
Jill Scott recognizes that empty consumptionâwhether it's music, food, or loveâalways leaves us starving for substance.â
â
In a new interview with NTS Radio, she explains, âPeople are so caught up in the aestheticâin the look of a thingâthat they're missing the most important part. If we're talking about a relationship, if we're talking about a mealâin the United States there's a lot of markets where they don't have real food, so you're cooking with something that's disingenuous to start with."â
â
That same emptiness, she argues, has infiltrated everything: love, business, connection. "It feels that way when it comes to our relationships. We're missing out on what actually matters, what's really giving us nutrients."â
â
Jill Scott's new album, 'To Whom This May Concern,' is set to release February 13. Singles "Beautiful People" and "Pressha" are out now.â

How sometimes we gotta train our bodies to remember safety after years of living in survival mode. The body has created habits and ways to cope with the stress...but we must remember ease.
