This might well get me banned, but what the heck...

I've had a good ride here. And a lot of that is because I joined when it was new & growing rapidly, just like Mastodon is now.
Work-life balance sets the bar too low.
No one grows up dreaming of a job that doesn't interfere with their life. We hope to spend our waking hours doing work that enriches our lives.
A toxic job drains you. A decent job sustains you. A healthy job invigorates you.
@dianasorace .@PassportCan this doesn't seem reasonable. I wouldn't mail in my kids original birth certificate either. Can you help with options please? #MakeItMakeSense
The right to choose is a woman’s right and a woman’s right alone. Every woman in Canada has a right to a safe and legal abortion. We’ll never back down from protecting and promoting women’s rights in Canada and around the world.
In support of @womensday we chatted with 6 women in technical roles with FortisBC. Whether protecting vegetation, mitigating floods or designing traffic work zones, these curious & talented women are helping rethink BC’s energy future. Read their stories: https://t.co/a1N9H4sIZu

Twitter is full of posts about the situation downtown.

These poor kids.
The pandemic has definitely shifted the way I think about job fulfillment. Culture, well-being & flexibility - for me, these things are key to better mental & physical health & work / life balance.

They call it a Freedom Convoy. But they've made Ottawa families and businesses far less free.
Vaccine clinics are closed. Students can't get to school. Small businesses can't open. And today, rocks were hurled at an ambulance and racial slurs at the paramedic.
Enough is enough.
@kberger16 @Ryan_J_McGinnis Ugh, I feel for teachers. There's no easy or even obvious solution. I hope she has her booster at least. Unbelievable to me teachers weren't given priority access.
@kberger16 @Ryan_J_McGinnis Sure, but there's still a lot kids who are either not eligible for vaccines or only have one dose. My 7 year old is one of them. Not everyone in the school system can brace for impact at the same level of protection.
