I like life better this way. I can confidently say I know myself better than I ever have before. I allow myself to do things how I've always wanted to without the pressure of scrutiny. I don't care anymore and it's freeing.
Perhaps my frontal lobe is finally developed ๐
And everyone is expected to to some degree, see tact.
But for many this is more automatic. The ai language filter is married to their very being. Others need to install the plugin and it's hanging by a thread of jumbled code that only sometimes works.
Saw this thing where people feed their texts or email through AI to alter the tone to be more assertive/friendly/compassionate/anything...can't help but think that's what it feels like talking to different people all day being autistic
Autistic โall or nothingโ thinking can look like:
-Seeing things as either perfect or terrible.
-Believing youโre a โbadโ person if you upset someone.
-Thinking that if someone doesnโt adore you they hate you.
-Being either 100% invested in things or not caring about them at all.
When you realize your true personality is the 'did you know person' who just enjoys sharing fun knowledge about everyday things, but you learned to mask over it since u were a kid bc nobody likes the ~know it all~
@adamfare1996@WulfrunaWrites CBT only works when the problem is you and how you react to the world. When the problem is โout thereโ no amount of CBT is going to help, itโs just going to keep making you feel like youโre still the problem because the real problem hasnโt changed but youโre told it should have.
Anyway, all of that is to say: autism leads to disability when an autistic trait is so pronounced that you can't reconcile it with your surroundings. When your emotions compel you to self harm, when your systems thinking makes you mute.
But not every trait, not all the time.

Imagine "seeing the system" so completely that you can't really distinguish between where one thing starts and another ends - everything is all part of one enormous system, and your brain is playing in it but how can you even describe that?
Imagine not being able to translate your thoughts into words. Imagine if it's not just hard but literally impossible for you to turn a really meaningful and complex thing you fully understand and care about into a communication to any other being.
Hey, how's this for autism 'awareness' month: some percentage of you who are reading this tweet are #actuallyAutistic and aren't aware of it.
I'm going to post a bunch of questions I wish I had been asked in this context, years ago. This is not diagnosis! But it's instructive.

Did the most ADHD-branded move today forgetting to take my meds, realize this halfway through the day, grab them (but no water so I put them in my pocket) only to find them again 2 hrs later and THEN take them
