To Khun Thai & International Fans of Scarlet Heart TH, please spare a few moments to read this. đ
As stated in the joint statement we released this morning, all of us share the same position. At this point, we are waiting for the series to air, hoping that proper on-screen credits will be provided to acknowledge Myanmar's cultural heritage.
From the beginning, our goal has been to seek a clear explanation from GMMTV regarding the use of Myanmar cultural elements and to request proper on-screen credits for our cultural heritage. Our position remains unchanged.
This is not the stance of TayTawan Myanmar alone, but a shared position agreed upon by the Myanmar fanbases of artists involved in the series, as well as fanbases of other artists. So, we would like to clarify that those leaving comments under GMMTV's posts or other artists' posts about matters unrelated to the series or insults do not belong to our fan communities.
They do not represent our Myanmar fan communities and are acting on their own behalf. We kindly ask everyone to keep this in mind should you come across such comments, as these actions are not associated with us.đ
Our decision and position have already been fully explained in the joint statement. Thank you so much.

Just look at this , isn't our culture truly beautiful? Weâre glad you found it lovely enough to use! However, we would be even more appreciative if you could give us credit by mentioning "Burmese Culture @GMMTV

We even joined the âHello Thailandâ trend just because we love you guys so much, but you took from our culture and used it in your series without even asking us or acknowledging us?
It honestly hurts to realize that the love and support weâve given you arenât being returned in the same way. . đ

We're just softly asking for a little respect and proper credit for our culture with a tearful heart.. but why do we have to face such harsh words? đĽşđ We just want our heritage to be seen gently, not to fight anyone nađ

Whenever I visit Bangkok, I always go to Wat Arun, wear a Thai traditional outfit, hire a photographer, and take photos because I love it so much.
But now, seeing the company use Myanmar traditional clothing without giving credit or properly acknowledging it makes me feel like my crush doesnât love me back.

Myanmar fans only want to protect our culture peacefully. We raised concerns @GMMTV since the trailer dropped but got no response. Now, fans face threats just for speaking up. Protecting our culture is NOT starting a war. âźď¸

@multiuniversebl Gmm should have clearly said âwe give crd at the start or end of the videoâ but they didnât. So we donât dare to believe gmm you donât know how many our cultures get recognized as Thailand
I'm not trying to glaze Gmmtv or the creatives associated with the series but this is just a thought that came into my mind from trying to understand whatever the fans were pointing out.
The team wanted to set a fictional or an imaginary world were the cultures are blended. The female lead time travels and goes to a place she has never heard of and she find cultures that she has heard about, but in different places, not in the same country. This was done intentionally to make the female lead and the audience confused and clueless. The intention was to create a culturally ambiguous country or city so the female lead feels trapped because she doesn't know anything, who the good people or the bad ones are. To me the idea is interesting and daring but the actual problem happened because the fans were not made aware of such a possibility. When the series is called 'Scarlet heart đđđđđĄđđŁđ' everybody expected Thailand's culture to be explored. In my opinion, all they should have done was post a disclaimer or an acknowledgement in the beginning before releasing the trailer, that they had taken inspirations from multiple cultures and gave credit to those cultures. This would have saved them from all the chaos that happened after the trailer release.
I do not believe anyone in the team had intentions to disrespect any culture, but when you mix or adapt cultures from other countries you need to make sure that you give credit and show respect. In my opinion this can still be fixed if they can give a zero/special episode explaining where the different inspirations were taken from and mentioning the original culture at least with a short description. Please don't forget to mention the cultures taken from Thailand too since the country has subcultures and they deserve the acknowledgement as well. And I need the director to talk about it, not the actors. I respect P'Fon and I believe in her that's exactly why I need to hear it from her.
