What’s happening in South Africa and some other African countries over illegal migration should be a wake up call for every African nation to enforce immigration laws effectively.

Forcing illegal migration in the name of “One Africa” may sound good, but in the long run, if there’s no fairness for host citizens, people will eventually rise up someday.

I saw a video of a lady izolo lamenting the fact that she registered her child back in August and is now being sent from pillar to post to get her child placed in a school.

It is not xenophobic to demand that South African kids be prioritised and placed in schools first. When there is still space, then non-South Africans can be admitted.

No child should be left behind. YES. Ubuntu commands us to do right by our fellow Africans, especially with the vulnerable within our society.

But, our charity cannot exist nor is it sustainable, if it is at the disadvantage of our fellow South Africans.

If there is room, of course every child in this country should be allowed to attend school. If not, then other means should be made that do not impede the access of citizens.

Let us be fair. No country would allow its citizens to go without, because they have to accommodate everyone indiscriminately.
