@Failuresofsocty@Trey_Explainer I believe that’s it’s a reference to how Europeans depicted Iceland in literature.
It used to be a common setting for Victorian adventure stories, where it was see as an isolated frozen hell until it received its flowers later on. Also that’s Bjork as the other commenter said
@no1cahokiasimp For some reason, a lot of cultures seem to passively believe they are the only ones with sarcasm or a good sense of humor. Reminds me of that meme “in my culture we care about family and love food!”
Saw someone call Cahokia a ‘big pile of dirt’ built by ‘savages’. Big talk considering Europeans tripped over themselves trying to claim these same ‘piles’ when they first encountered them. So unimpressive, white academics cooked up a whole mythical race of sailors to take credit
@dannstacks@OrangeAndInsane From my memory, his monologues also tend to be very heavy with imagery and symbolism. They aren’t just dumps of expositions, but like horrifying poems. I remember his monsters monologue scaring the absolute shite out of me as a child and it still hits on rewatches
