@Andrew_FBB Lot of dudes here not getting that this is a 2027 prospect list, and that there’s an underlying assumption that many of the better, more MLB-ready prospects will get called-up in 2026 (so, not eligible for this list).
It’s not hard to figure out.
@dennistlin@Ken_Rosenthal SD’s window for making bad decisions may never close.
Imagine this lineup if it had James Wood and CJ Abrams atop it … now THERE’S an offensive force that might have been able to beat LA every once in a while.
@Andrew_FBB You are probably staying away from the injured (IL) guys, but I’d add GARRETT CROCHET to the list. Arguably a fantasy 1st-rounder who has in no way offered any value 40% into the season (even when he was active).
@jpoch1983@ForeverRanger91@BNightengale Statement above says: Let’s look at ALL the different NFL teams that get in the SB over the years.
If the factual answer is categorically less than the sport one is arguing against, while using this to support basis for parity, then it’s a faulty argument. That’s all I’m saying.
@ForeverRanger91@jpoch1983@BNightengale Number of different teams that have gone to the SB in last 10-years = 9
Number of different teams that have gone to the WS in the last 10-years = 11
@jonmorosi@MLBNetwork@Phillies Until Philly/Wheeler plays LAD, at which time they are, once again, shown the way to the bridesmaid’s dressing room (giving-up four HRs along the way).
@ZachGatsby@Ken_Rosenthal Not only CAN’T afford to wait, should have traded this past offseason, would have received a MASSIVE amount of talent. I suspect Tigers deeply regret hanging on even this long in a big way.
If they wait they literally get nothing (like Angels, when Ohtani walked at end of 2023).
@thinkkaz@JonHeyman What part of this near-term plan for recovery isn’t considered fast?? Original reports (in first days of May) listed a return of July/August.
@BillPlaschke If Angel fans are going to pack the Big-A regardless of success/failure (they are Top8 in MLB currently, boasting an attendance average of 36K+), why would Moreno (or anybody) sell this team?? Just to be nice? Probably not.
@MLBONFOX@Ken_Rosenthal If MLB is pushing a 2027 salary floor/requirement of $171.2M while Pirates current payroll stands far short (approximately $100M even), why wouldn’t they take a proactive approach and sign/extend him now??
@busterbronco81@CBSScottWhite I hear you, but I’d expect 5-tool production from a Round#1 selection … to get less is a significant loss of opportunity.
I don’t think I would have chosen “Juan Pierre” in the first 10-rounds of draft, even in his best seasons.
