Belief system. I saw in Osun state one day, one of the Ode guys received a car from his daughter abroad. To celebrate, his fellow Ode killed a chicken and put the blood on the engine while doing a series of prayers. For them, it's their way of appreciating the blessing, asking for more, and warding off evil. The same way they shoot in the sky 21 times when one of them dies.

It is symbolic for them. The car isn't just a machine, but something spiritually secured.
