@dsilver88 To me it sounds like Tocchet and the staff over coached him in the playoffs especially focusing on a defensive game and really made Michkov over think his game and played a role in his poor play. Can’t imagine how difficult the language barrier is too
@2Murphy8 Good interview from Prongs. It clearly shows that Pronger can see both sides with Michkov being blamed not coming into shape and Tocchet not putting him into positions to succeed. Compared to the Chiclets crew who only see it one way and defends Tocchet at all costs.
@noahstrang_@FlyersNation Yikes he knew he screwed up and said he’s messing with the reporter, then changed his answer about Peterson.
Can’t believe the Flyers knew about this and hired him now seeing he is doing the same thing to Michkov
@PHLY_Flyers Flyers can’t afford to mess this up with Michkov because of the coach. They literally don’t have any room for error since they can’t draft high nor have a free agent class with the talent they need to acquire. They have to develop michkov into the best version of himself.
@JameyBaskow Matvei signing fans jerseys at the Carnival while Tocchet at the same time is talking negative behind the young promising players back to the media on multiple podcasts. Feel bad for him, he has been through some much adversity already in his short time here in the NHL.
@DanKnightly@dsilver88 The kids is 21 and doesn’t speak good English. I honestly feel bad for michkov who can’t really defend himself against Tocchet who constantly talks negative about him to the media. We can’t even get a Michkov interview post game anymore.
@PHLY_Flyers Maybe Dan Hilferty should read the fans comments because those 3 fans who texted him that the team is on the right path and to keep going…. are not what the majority of fans think
@tonyescargot@BizNasty2point0 And on the TV screen labeled it as occurring on Friday acting like this just happened to make a point. Lies, absolutely ridiculous
@charlieo_conn It’s fair that Michkov is to blame for part of his sophomore slump (not in shape, bad penalties etc), but Tocchet needs to put him in a position to be successful (RW his natural position, on a line with players of his skill); his utilization of him has been the most frustrating!
@slafplzscore This sounds so familiar with the michkov debate for Calder last year when he was getting way less TOI than his fellow rookies, yet no one wanted to accept that point of view. Now look at the Habs fans using it to their advantage
@NHLFlyers I’m done with Tocchet. His handling of michkov in the media has been horrible. There was no reason for him to get upset there during those questions. Michkov’s utilization for offense despite his de-conditioning has been horribly managed by Toch.
@charlieo_conn Do you think part of michkov’s offensive struggles is that toch has him overthinking the defense part of the game and he can’t get his game going?
