Anyway, gender is complicated, cis-hetero-normativity is shit, replacing it with a different sense of guilt and duty is also shit, thanks to the people (mostly trans women and NB people) who pointed this out to me early in my transition. M.
I can't respond directly Felix, but on the off-chance you can see - press pause and think about what YOU want. You don't owe anyone anything from your gender. If stopping T and/or, say, trying finasteride works for you, go for it. List what you want, in order of priority...
(Is emphatically not identifying as a woman but having mixed feelings about the effects of testosterone fairly fundamental to (progressive and not a dickweed) masculinity? Discuss.) s/Or maybe not /s.
Can we be very clear that not allowing kids to socially transition because you fear they will become a trans adult if they do only makes sense if you think being a trans adult is bad.
@DadTrans It probably ought to be - see: NHS-England-Guidance-for-CCGs-on-Fertility-Preservation.pdf (https://t.co/EKnDLKSJKY) - can't see any reason same principles wouldn't apply.
Sending love to Mark Rees’ friends and family. Mark, who was co-founder of Press For Change, died 10 days ago. He’d had a huge positive impact on trans rights in the UK.
@UnicornsRockUK @mimmymum I did a sensitive application a couple of weeks ago. It still worked fine. I think it's just poor phrasing - you do have to provide names to DBS, but you can do that by means of the sensitive route.
"The EHRC is saying trans rights don't matter"

We’re reflecting on today's letter from the EHRC - more updates and actions soon.
Right now, what’s most important is to hold firm to our rights and to the truth. This letter has no statutory weight - that is, it doesn’t change the law.

@setoacnna If an employer had adopted a policy to support pregnant women, but refused to allow a pregnant man the same support, surely at that stage it would be sex and/or gender reassignment discrimination anyway, and he'd be protected that way?
Would that same gay, working class, cross-dressing comedian succeed if he were starting right now, when panic about gender means drag shows are being picketed everywhere from Santa Barbara to Skegness?
This is brilliant.
