Remember 2011/2012 when Chelsea pushed heavily to sign Luka Modric - Roman Abramovich even held a secret meeting with Modrić on his yacht. Chelsea launched multiple bids - rising up to £40m and Modric publicly handed in a transfer request to force the move. Yes, our recruitment team hasn’t always got it right when it comes to signings and their impact, but when it comes to selling, BlueCo have been excellent.

But when it comes to selling, BlueCo have genuinely stood out from most Premier League clubs. While many top teams struggle to get good money for players they want to move on, Chelsea have consistently found ways to turn squad players into serious profits. That deserves credit.

Criticism is valid on how the club has been run overall… but we shouldn’t fail to applaud them when it comes to selling.

They’ve shown they know how to extract value when the time is right.
