In a world where you can become anything you want if you try hard enough, it's amazing how many choose to become a cunt, empathy and kindness cost nothing..
The argument against this is Usain Bolt, fastest man on the planet, loves football, big Man Utd fan, very average borderline crap, just being a good athlete is not enough and never will be, top footballers have been playing since they were 5yrs old, you can't just move over from another sport and expect to be a top footballer, they are completely different sports
I can't lie, I'm not going to miss all these tweets from Americans who are always looking to change the beautiful game in order to simplify it beyond recognition.
@AkaBateman no because the best players have been playing since age 5. If you dedicated everything to football for 4yrs you would have great 9yr olds, but your adults would still be shit.
Football is not about being the most physically imposing athletes. Many of the best footballers in the World throughout history are not big. Maradona, Messi, Modric, Gascoigne, Aguero, Deco, Juninho, Zola, there are many more examples of little guys being the best, you're theory is utter nonsense.
If being the biggest and fittest was all that was needed then African teams would dominate everyone, Africa loves football and is miles ahead of the USA, Africa has produced many great players over the years, but even their best players tend to be smaller build with pace, Salah and Mane are strong but they're not the biggest, they both stand at 5'9"so your logic is completely flawed. Samuel E'to was skinny but one of the best players to come out of Africa.
Some of the best tacklers in the game are tiny too, Makelele was 5'9" and Kante is just 5'6", two of the best defensive midfielders the Premier League has ever seen. if you consistently focus on power and size you'll never do well, you need to learn the skills, no point running at 100mph if you can't do it with the ball at your feet.

@ThrillaRilla369 People in the UK purchase between 730 million and 912 million tins of baked beans every single year. So yes they do exist, in their millions ๐คฃ
You see this is the problem, there is a lot more to Football than just being the biggest or best athletes. Football is mostly about skill, top footballers are playing from the age of 5, so until North America fully catches the bug and starts making it part of their education system from a young age they will never be as good as the South Americans or the Europeans.
As it stands the USA are miles behind the best European teams. France, Spain and England are all a better standard than anything they played at this World Cup. You need to think more long term, invest in the younger generations for a brighter tomorrow, but most Americans are not interested in long term, they would rather just get the best athletes and expect instant results.
Football isn't as easy as these players make it look, this USA team is the best you have available. If you want to become better you need to start thinking long term and investing in the grassroots from a young age, then and only then will future generations blossom.
@CFC_Dubois Ronaldo is a sick individual, his reluctance to step aside has wasted this Portuguese golden generation, they are in danger of doing a Belgium and it's all because nobody will tell him to hang up his boots...
No maturing is realising materialistic things have nothing to do with your personality or who you are. Too many shallow people out there judge others by what they can afford to wear or buy. A person who is comfortable in his own skin can wear anything without caring what others think.
