It’s easy to slip into a mindset where we treat work as a sentence to be served rather than a mission to be lived. Our logic becomes simple: secure the paycheck, apply the skills as long as it’s tolerable, and survive. But when we choose the “security” of a job over the adventure of God’s purpose, we often pay for that security with our joy.
As young believers considering ministry, many of us experience a kind of decision paralysis. We feel the weight of our entire life’s course rushed upon one definitive choice in our twenties.
To break this kind of thinking, our latest blog post looks at the life of Titus as a missionary biographical case study. By tracking his movements in the New Testament, we see his missionary jobs constantly shifting based on the organic needs of the church.

Oftentimes, when we first awaken to God’s missionary call, a world of ultimate opportunity lies before us. We picture the glorious reality of Revelation 5:9-10 and want to jump on a plane tomorrow.
But for many of us, our initial motivation outweighs our preparation.
The journey from a burning heart in your local church pews to sustained, faithful ministry among the unreached is a long, sanctifying road. To help you navigate it wisely, we are breaking down the 9 Stages of the Missionary Experience—from the initial spark of a personal call, through the heavy trial of fundraising, to the grit of cultural adjustment and long-term fruitfulness.
Don't let the reality of the cost catch you by surprise. Learn what to expect on the path to the nations.

The morning light is just breaking as we gather the men for week two of our pastors' training. Our focus right now? Marriage and family. We are praying God uses His Word to profoundly strengthen these couples, teaching them to love and lead each other well. Why start here? Because equipping people to be godly at home is the most important first step. When families are stabilized by the Gospel, communities are transformed, and the mission advances! Thank you for praying with us as we invest in these future church leaders.
Relational ministry isn't just about being a good friend; it's about having the courage to share the life-saving truth of Jesus. Once trust is established, our teams boldly open the Word together with the community. We desire to see lives completely transformed by the power of the Gospel, and that means faithfully teaching all that Christ commanded.
Recently, a To Every Tribe team traveled to Samiri—an unreached area—to spend a week with the community. This marked their second visit to the region this year.
The journey into these remote areas is beautiful but challenging. Why keep making the trek? Because establishing a church requires genuine relationships, and building trust is a process that takes time and patience. By returning to Samiri, the team continues the vital work of being present and laying the relational groundwork for the Gospel.
The trip from this video may be over, but please continue to pray for the team in Papua New Guinea as they continue the work of raising up believers!
Missionary life isn't just about formal teaching; it’s about enduring the same daily trials and struggles as the community you serve. From replacing fuel filters to dealing with long power outages caused by a local earthquake, everyday maintenance is just as much a part of the calling as preaching. It's in these ordinary, sometimes frustrating moments that genuine trust is built.
It is easy to enter a new culture thinking we have all the answers, but real disciple-making requires us to become eager listeners. Spending time with people in their homes, observing their daily chores, and asking questions about their traditions builds deep, authentic trust. We must enter a culture as learners. It is in these quiet, shared moments of admiration and conversation that the relational foundation for church planting is built.
In Christian ministry, the language of calling can sometimes feel mysterious. Many believers feel drawn toward cross-cultural missions, yet struggle to determine if that desire is a lifelong vocation or just a passing interest.
Scripture provides clear structural guardrails for discerning your path. True biblical calling is never just a private, internal feeling—it is a triple-layered reality:
≫ Inward Desire: A genuine, persistent longing for the actual labor of shepherding and serving —not just the title or position.
≫ Outward Affirmation: Cultivated when mature leaders and your local church covenant community identify, confirm, and lay hands on your ministry.
≫ Providential Opportunity: Practical open doors where your gifts actively meet existing, humble community needs.

Heavy trials, but Jesus is worth it
Dear Partners in Prayer,
Today we had our monthly global call with our staff and missionaries from around the world. Everyone shared something hard from the past month for us to pray for. I wanted to summarize these requests so that you, our prayer partners, our rope holders, our senders, our sacrificial donors, can pray for us. We are thankful that in spite of trials and sacrifice, we know that Jesus is worth it.
For His Glory and Worship,
Tim Boal
President & CEO

If you look closely across the yard and on the porches, you’ll see small groups of men digging into the Word together. This is week one of our pastors' training for the year, and we are starting with a foundational topic: marriage and family.
As we equip the next generation of local shepherds, we know that true discipleship starts at home. A stable, Christ-centered home is the proving ground for ministry and the bedrock of a healthy church.
Thank you for your continued love and prayers as we invest in these men. Together, we are seeing the worship of Jesus extended to every tribe!
Here is a glimpse of our team listening to a Sunday morning devotional in Czech. We recently transitioned our gatherings to a new, regular location! As we move, we are praying that these meetings will be a deep source of encouragement for believers and a place of genuine intrigue for unbelievers. We believe in the local church, and we know that within it, God grants each person unique gifts for His glory.
Pray with us that this new space allows those gifts to flourish as we extend the worship of Jesus to every tribe.
Gathering by the water for a baptism is always a profound milestone. It represents the beautiful fruit of relational church planting—moving from spiritual conversations to sharing the Gospel with clarity, and finally to a public declaration of faith. Moments like these remind us why we endure the challenges of cross-cultural ministry: to see lives transformed by the power of the Gospel.
Pray for our missionaries in Papua New Guinea and the people they are serving!
Before we can speak into someone's life, we have to actually be in their life. Relational disciple-making means moving beyond programs and into the living room. Taking the time to help prepare daily meals shows a community that our missionaries are there to serve and share life, not just run an event.
In pioneer church planting, we often focus entirely on the seed. But if we don't become experts on the soil, we risk sacrificing relationships—and thus discipleship—just to get an event going.
Earning trust takes time, patience, and a genuine commitment to suffer alongside people. It means: Going slow to go fast down the road. Serving communities at the exact point of their self-defined needs. Ditching the project mindset to love people purely as image-bearers.
If you are facing a hard field today, take heart. As Paul reminds us in 1 Corinthians, one plants, another waters, but God gives the growth.

The goal of pioneer church planting isn’t just gaining converts; it’s establishing a self-led, reproducing church. In the final phases of our 8-Phase model, missionaries shift from doing the ministry to equipping the saints, and ultimately, handing over the reins. To effectively share the Gospel, we must first demonstrate that we truly value the people we are trying to reach. Joining in their daily traditions—like learning to use a traditional grinding stone—helps break down cultural barriers. It shows a community that we aren't there to impose our own culture, but to humbly live among them, respect their way of life, and point them to the hope of Christ.
There is nothing quite like hearing praises sung to God in another language. When we talk about making disciples, this is the ultimate goal: a vibrant, worshipping community that deeply owns their faith. It takes time, patience, and a willingness to fully immerse ourselves in a new culture, but joining a local body of believers in worship makes every sacrifice worth it.
Today, May 24, is the International Day for the Unreached. At To Every Tribe, our mission is to cross cultures and build the genuine trust necessary for the Gospel to take root in places it hasn't yet. It is a slow, deeply relational process of shepherding people, but it is entirely worth it.
Today, we pause with the global Church to remember the billions who have no access to the good news of Jesus. Join us in taking one step today to notice, to pray for workers to go to the billions, and to respond.
