On Dec. 9, 2025, 79-year-old Jolan Kun, was found dead inside a unit at 747 St. Clair Ave. W. Her death was classified as a homicide following a post-mortem examination. Ashton Drysdale, 38, Kaream Hines, 38, and Christopher Matthews, 39 are charged with first-degree murder.

Daniel Markel was murdered in the midst of a bitter custody dispute with his estranged wife, Wendi Adelson. She wanted to take their two boys to south Florida to be closer to her parents. Many Adelsons have been found guilty for murder.

On April 30, 2026, Daniel Stopnicki, a 47-year-old Toronto resident, was fatally shot multiple times in Wenderly Park in the city's north end. Michaelo Markicevic, 67, was arrested near the scene and has been charged with second-degree murder.

A garbage truck driver has died after he was struck by his own vehicle in Scarboro. It happened at 8:30am at Morningside Avenue and Sewells Road. Emergency crews report that the driver had been hit by his own truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

On Monday, May 19, 2025, at 5:21am police responded to a call for a shooting in the Weston Rd and Albion Rd area. A male was shot inside an apartment. The man was pronounced deceased at the scene. He is Lloyd Alexander Hastings, 42, of Toronto.
