The harassment and oppression of Muslims has become so normalised that any attempt by Muslims to resist or even speak out against the injustice and brutality they face is met with even more hostility. When Hdutva extremists feel their egos are bruised, they often resort to violence as seen in Delhi in 2020 when peaceful protests by Muslims triggered them so much that they started rioting.
Similarly, during religious processions that pass by Muslim neighbourhoods or mosques, they throw stones, play provocative music, and raise genocidal slogans yet expect Muslims to remain restrained. During Holi, women are harassed, yet Mus are expected not to protect their own. And if they do resist, extremist groups instigate riots. When Muslims act in self-defence, police target them through encounters and raze their homes with bulldozers.
Their attitude seems to be: how dare Muslims refuse to silently endure the brutality inflicted upon them?
Such is the entitlement and privilege.
