@Raiderfrank65 Exactly. Thats where I'm at. I'm not saying just run it back but I'm not going all in when the team doesn't have all the pieces to go all in
@Raiderfrank65 Agreed the days of ripping teams off are nearly dead. I wouldn't even package him for Larkin. I'd rather stand pat and be patient, fringe moves again and shoot for next year or mid season help
@Raiderfrank65 I'm not doing that just solely based off speed. This team is not fast enough and I can't trade my only burner. I wouldn't lose my mind over a trade like just wouldn't prefer it
What the people clamoring for a big move by the Flyers seem to be forgetting is that this is still the fourth youngest team in the league. Their improvement (or lack of it) next season will be determined primarily by whether or not their young players progress.
You're going to have a full year of Porter Martone, probably the early odds-on Calder Trophy favorite. Matvei Michkov *should* be better after learning a lesson this season. Barkey, Bump, Foerster, Drysdale, York -- all of them should be in the growth stages of their careers, while Dvorak, Sanheim, Tippett and Konecny are in the primes of their careers. The goaltending should be improved, with a better No. 2. Even with no moves, this team can compete for a playoff spot, which I would think is obvious at this point based on what just happened last month.
This is why Briere can remain patient. Should he explore a big move this week? Of course. You look into everything. But making a trade or two just to try to keep up with the the other teams around them at this point of their rebuild would be a recipe for disaster.
