Our copyright act is VERYYYYYY clear on who OWNS the sound recordings! She WHO FINANCES OWNS THE MASTERS. IT CAN EITHER BE THE FINANCIER DIRECTLY OR HE COMMISSIONS SOMEONE ON HER BEHALF. EXCEPT there's a contrary agreement.

Section 108 (1b) Copyright Act Of Nigeria 2022 Defines an Author (owner) Section 28 (1) 28.—"(1) Except as otherwise provided in an agreement, copyright
conferred by this Act, shall initially vest in the author." Of a Sound recording as follows:

"sound recording, means the person by whom the arrangements
for the making of the sound recording were made"

"sound recording” means the fixation of a sequence of sound capable of being perceived aurally and of being reproduced but does not include a
sound track, accompanying or incorporated in an audiovisual work ;"
