The International AI Safety Report, led by Yoshua Bengio, is a stark reminder of the chasm between AI's increasing capability and society's capacity to keep real-world deployments safe. https://t.co/OyScsanAYb
Vance's "wrecking ball" speech at the '25 Munich Security Conference ended the post-WWII order. So where are we today? A good place to start is the newly released 2026 Munich Security Report, "Under Destruction". https://t.co/d5qGe1LfQc
.@jonathanwatts the link to the green energy in China report on which you base your article in today's @guardian leads to a 404 and I can't find any reference to it on the @CarbonBrief website. Is it still under embargo or has Carbon Brief withdrawn it?
@Keir_Starmer 1. I’m not angry about immigration.
2. Since Brexit, UK has had full control of its borders, so how can you ‘take it back’?
3. Will you allow asylum seekers to work?
4. Easiest/cheapest way to smash people smuggler gangs? Enable asylum seekers to apply in Calais.

@Richard08156270@ernestopriego I thought the next REF was swinging away from looking at where scholars publish in favour of looking at the impact of the research they do? Have you heard of Hidden Ref? It’s promoting the inclusion of non-journal/book outputs in the REF.
@ernestopriego Publishing with for-profits isn’t necessarily more expensive, some for-surplus (I.e. society-owned journals) charge similar prices. What about Diamond OA journals? Are there none in your field?
@acagamic None of these specialise in grey literature aka valuable research content that’s hidden. If you want a hidden advantage in your lit reviews, you’ll include @Policy_Commons in your search plan. 16mn publications from >20k organizations.
@jessicaelgot@KemiBadenoch logic: public health has gone too far. There was a time when polio was commonplace and people were having more babies. 🙄#causalfallacy
@acagamic Couple of additional things to add:
1. Know where you’ll post the pre-print
2. Plan how you will promote your results and engage with audiences (because publishing is not an end point, it’s the beginning of the communication and engagement phase that drives impact).
