The UFC is supposedly the pinnacle of MMA therefore that's what I come to expect frome those at the top. Lopes definitely has attibutes over Movsar now the Volk fight has passed.

Lopes being an all-time block head definitely played a bigger part than thought. Volks the FW goat for sure. He's timeless.

It's a tremendous ask of him to fight at an elite level unseen since 5 years ago. Against a younger, effective & well rounded elite level opponent like Movsar. Good luck

So you're basing your analysis on 4 years ago, now a regressing fighter, older & questionable durability. Good luck.

Yan was never in danger in the first fight the reason he lost was because he couldn't defend the takedowns & get going. Merab literally set a takedown record. Yan is levels & Merab's X factor is his tenacity.

@John56532395736 He's carried by his athleticism & reflexes. Even just in this clip here when he's out of position he bounces back into correct stance each time instead of resetting with his feet. He works hard to maintain his posture from his own over extensions & mis-steps with explosiveness
