Exponential increase in revenue with excessive borrowing: Yet more hardship for Nigerians!

In celebrating three years of his administration, President Bola Tinubu included, among his achievements, an increase in revenue from N16.8 trillion in 2022 to N35 trillion in 2025. An increase of over 100%.

Shockingly, while Nigerians expected a reduction in borrowing with the exponential increase in revenue, the opposite is the case. In just three years, President Bola Tinubu’s government seems to be obsessed with excessive and imprudent borrowing, with our total debt currently about N200 trillion—a deeply disturbing increase of over N100 trillion.

In addition to the exponential increases in both revenue and debt, it is also important to note that Nigeria has earned far more than the budget revenue targets due to global and regional geoeconomic and political tensions.

Alarmingly, even with the astronomical increase in both revenue and debt, almost all key socio-economic and governance indicators are worse than in 2023. Multi-dimensional poverty has increased from 87 million people in 2023 to over 140 million people in 2025. Rapidly increasing unemployment and a decline in GDP per capita from $1,597 in 2023 to $1,223 in 2025, and the list goes on.

Just more and more hardship for Nigerians! The question Nigerians and even the international community are asking is, “Where did all the money go?”

Nigerians deserve a detailed and transparent explanation of what happened to our economy and financial resources since 2023, and a stop to the imprudent, unaccountable, and opaque management of our common patrimony.

A new and productive Nigeria is POssible, and Nigeria will be OK! -PO

Fellow Nigerians, good morning.

I woke up this morning after my church service with a deeply reflective heart, and despite every constraint, I felt compelled to share these thoughts with you.

Many people do not truly understand the silent pains some of us carry daily—the private struggles, emotional burdens, and quiet battles we face while trying to survive and serve sincerely in difficult circumstances.

We now live in an environment that has become increasingly toxic, where the very system that should protect and create opportunities for decent living often works against the people—a society where intimidation, insecurity, endless scrutiny, and discouragement have become normal.

More painful is when some of those you associate with, believing you would find understanding and solidarity among them, become part of the pressure you face. Some who publicly identify with you privately distance themselves or join in unfair criticism.

We live in a society where humility is mistaken for weakness, respect is seen as a lack of courage, and compassion is treated as foolishness—a system where treating people equally is questioned simply because you refuse to worship status, tribe, class, or power.

Personally, I have never looked down on anyone except to uplift them. I have never used privilege, position, or resources to oppress others, intimidate the weak, or make people feel small. To me, leadership has always been about service, sacrifice, and helping others rise.

Let me state clearly: my decision to leave the ADC is not because our highly respected Chairman, Senator David Mark, treated me badly, nor because my leader and elder brother, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, or any other respected leaders did anything personally wrong to me. I will continue to respect them.

However, the same Nigerian state and its agents that created unnecessary crises and hostility within the Labour Party that forced me to leave now appear to be finding their way into the ADC, with endless court cases, internal battles, suspicion, and division, instead of focusing on deeper national problems and playing politics built more on control and exclusion than on service and nation-building.

Even within spaces where one labours sincerely, one is sometimes treated like an outsider in one’s own home. You and your team become easy targets for every failure, frustration, or misunderstanding, as though honest contribution has become a favour being tolerated rather than appreciated.

And when you choose to leave so that those you are leaving can have peace, and you step out into the cold, you are still maligned and your character is questioned. Despite all your efforts to continue working for a better Nigeria and engaging people with sincerity and goodwill, those who do not wish you well continue to attack your character and question your intentions.

There are moments I ask God in prayer: Why is doing the right thing often misconstrued as wrongdoing in our country? Why is integrity not valued? Why is the prudent management of resources, especially when invested in critical areas like education and healthcare, wrongly labelled as stinginess? Why are humility and obedience to the rule of law often taken to be weakness rather than discipline?

Let me assure all that I am not desperate to be President, Vice President, or Senate President. I am desperate to see a society that can console a mother whose child has been kidnapped or killed while going to school or work. I am desperate to see a Nigeria where people will not live in IDP camps but in their homes. I am desperate for a country where Nigerian citizens do not go to bed hungry, not knowing where their next meal will come from.

Yet, despite everything, I remain resolute. I firmly believe that Nigeria can still become a country with competent leadership based on justice, compassion, and equal opportunity for all.

A new Nigeria is POssible. -PO

ידעתם שבכ"ט בנובמבר 2024 ביאפרה הכריזה על עצמאותה מניגריה?

שזו כבר הפעם השניה שהם עושים את זה, אבל בקודמת, לפני 57 שנים, זה עלה להם ברצח עם אכזרי שביצעו בהם המוסלמים בשלטון?

נכון שלא נפלתם מהכיסא לשמוע שכמו כל מדינה איסלמיסטית, ניגריה הרגה נוצרים ויהודים באכזריות לא מצויה? או שהיא רודפת את בני האיגבו היושבים בה מטעמי אנטישמיות מצויה עד מאד עד היום?

ידעתם שניגריה היא למעשה עוד מדינה שהמציאו הבריטים, כמו לבנון וסוריה?

שהיא באמת מאד דומה ללבנון במובן זה שאין עם ניגרי, יש שם כמה שבטים שונים זה מזה ומובחנים זה מזה, שאין באמת סיבה, חוץ מקולוניאליזם בריטי ומוסלמי, שיתערבבו זה לזה בחיים.

כן כן, אותם הבריטים שבאים אלינו בטענות ורוצים פלסטין בחינם, כי 78% משטח ישראל המנדטורית שגנבו ונתנו להאשמים שייבאו לכאן מסעודיה זה לא מספיק?

סייעו לשלטון הניגרי לגנוב לביאפרים את החירות ואת המדינה. הם גם תמכו באיסלמיסטים בזמן שביצעו רצח עם באנשי האיגבו מביאפרה בשנות ה-60 כשביקשו לעצמם עצמאות.

תעמידו פנים שאתם מופתעים - בעצמאות של ביאפרה, שהיתה ממלכה עתיקה מאות שנים לפני שהבריטים המציאו את ניגריה (שם מעליב אם תחשבו על זה), האו"ם לא מיהר להכיר כמו שהכיר בשקר הפלשתי הארור, בזמן שאנחנו נלחמים למגר את הטרור האיסלמיסטי.

למעשה, גם בעצמאות הכורדים, הבסקים, הפלמים, האירים, והקלדונים החארות האלו לא ממהרים להכיר. כי הקטע הוא לא זכויות אדם או הגדרה עצמית. ההפך. הם מכירים בפלשת, כי ככה הם יוכלו להמשיך להתעלם מכל האחרים.

זוכרים שבניגריה משתולל האיסלאם? עזבו שמחצית מהמחוזות בה כפופים לחוקי שריעה על פי חוק, ארגון הטרור האיסלמיסטי בוקו חראם חוטף שם נערות וסוחר בהן באין מפריע (היה קמפיין סטייל "מי טו" כשזה קרה. זה לא הפריע).

אז "ניגריה" לא באמת מספקת הגנה של מדינה לתושביה - שסובלים ממציאות לא מאד שונה מה-7/10 כבר הרבה מאד זמן.

קיומה כאמצעי סחיטה ושליטה לא באמת מוצדק מבחינת זכויות האדם של של האזרחים שמשועבדים לה מכוח האינרציה והקולוניאליזם.

לא תופתעו לגלות שהקונסטרוציה המיותרת להחריד הזו, "ניגריה", מובילה, פחות או יותר מיום שהמציאו אותה, מדיניות חוץ מקדמת "אחדות אפריקנית". שזו דרך אחרת לומר דאר אל אסלאם. אוניברסליזם. רעיל. אלים. משעבד. שרק עושה נזק ואף אחד לא מרוויח ממנו כלום.

לפי ויקיפדיה (לצערי אני לא מכירה את הסיפור מספיק, זה לא סכסוך שלמדתי בצורה מסודרת) ישראל אפילו ניסתה לעזור לביאפרים במלחמת השחרור שלהם (שלא צלחה) והעביר�� להם נשק שלל ממלחמת ששת הימים.

והיו לנו קשרים עם בני האיגבו בעבר. רק לא מחויבות אמיתית לסייע להם או להכיר במדינה שלהם.

אני יודעת שאנחנו מאד מאד עסוקים בבעיות של עצמנו. ויש לנו באמת הרבה בעיות.

אבל לפעמים צריך להרים את הראש טיפה מעל השוטף ולחשוב על התפקיד שלנו בעולם, על הצדק ותכלס, על הטווח הארוך שלנו.

בביאפרה יש אנשים שרוצים חירות ומוסלמים שמדכאים אותם. מדינת ישראל שרוצה להיות מעוז חירות בעולם ולו כדי שנוכל להבטיח את החירות שלנו, יכולה להתחיל מלהכיר בעצמאות האיגבו, על יהודיו, בביאפרה.

אחרי עשורים של בלגן עולמי ומשעבד מבית היוצר של בריטניה, שחצבה את העו��ם בהיבריס לא נתפס והעניקה למוסלמים משאבים ועוצמה, שאין שום סיכוי שהיו משיגים בעצמם, כי החברה שלהם רעילה ומדכאת מדי, שמסכנים את החירות העולמית.

הגיעה הזמן שנתחיל לחשוב מעבר לאף של עצמנו ונשתמש בחירות שלנו גם כדי להבטיח את החירות של אחרים.

השקר הפלישתי הוא כליא הברק שבעזרתו משעבדי כל העולם, באירופה, באפריקה ובאסיה מסיחים את הדעת העולמית ממעלליהם.

אנחנו התיקון. הם מנסים להרוס אותנו כי הם יודעים את זה. אם אנחנו רוצים לעזור לעולם להתעצב מחדש בתצורה נכונה ומשמרת חירות, על בסיס הבחנה בין שבטים והכרה בשונות שלהם, בלי האוניברסליזם הקומוניסטי או האיסלמיסטי, שמשעבדים את כולנו,

אנחנו צריכים להתחיל להסתכל מסביב ולעזור לעמים האחרים שנאנקים תחת עול השעבוד.

יש לנו בביאפרה אחים לדרך. החירות שלהם, חשובה לנו יותר אסטרטגית, מהיחסים שלנו עם הכובשים המוסלמים מבית מדרשם של הקולוניאליסטים הבריטים.
