Irish musician Glen Hansard has died at the age of 56.

The Dublin singer-songwriter was best known as the frontman of The Frames, his work with The Swell Season, and for the Oscar-winning song Falling Slowly from Once.

The European Central Bank has unveiled 10 shortlisted designs for the next generation of euro banknotes, featuring themes including European culture and rivers and birds.

The public consultation is open until 21 September, with the winning design expected to be chosen later this year. While the new notes won't arrive immediately, the redesign marks the first major update to euro banknotes in over two decades.

Existing euro notes will remain valid and continue to circulate alongside the new series once they're introduced.
