Apparently gorillas are a symbolism of wisdom which is rather fitting following my interview on Friday where I secured the position of Lead Midwife for Professional Practice/PMA 🦍
Care Quality Commission 2022 Maternity Survey | All4Maternity great blog written by our very own @BWH_NHS Birth Centre Manager @samueltodd16 ! Have a read! @daljitathwal @mwrachelcarter @loudavidson1980 https://t.co/3QxpqLRb85
So very proud of you @ToddBryony for completing a PGCert in Genomic Medicine with a distinction 🥂 (although I don’t always fully understand all of what you share with me).
Onwards and upwards as you commence year 2 and a PGDip 🧬
Well said @sandraigwe. Our inquiry into racial injustice in maternity care heard evidence from women, birthing people, HCPs and lawyers outlining how systemic racism within maternity care can have a devastating impact on basic rights in childbirth.

🧵We have now heard of 43 Trusts (and counting) being forced to restrict or suspend their homebirth service and/or close their MLU in response to their staffing levels. This is leading to hundreds of women and birthing people unable to give birth how and where they would like.
Really important work! All tocolytics delay preterm birth and allow antenatal optimisation (IUT, steroids and magnesium). Nifedipine is associated with neonatal benefits and is a good first line agent.

5 years ago 72 people died because they were trapped in a government mandated death trap. 5 years later and we can’t forget their names. We must continue to fight for justice for them and their families. 💚💚✊🏾 #Justice4Grenfell
Lots of guidance coming out at the moment from @BritSocGenMed - keep an eye out for the full publication on Prenatal Genetic Diagnosis (as well as that on Testing in Children presented by Tara Clancy yesterday) #ESHG2022
