I'm not gonna tell you you should try all three--no one should feel obligated to do that however, I will tell you as someone who has driven to every single state in the country with the exception of Hawaii every experience I have had with staff at Buc-ees or Waffle House has always been warm and pleasant--but my fair share of flies and guns at Bass Pro and what is so much fun about watching tourist post about their travels around the country, the awe and respect that they have for our sense of place and the little things in our lives that makes the middle of the country feel big.
If these things matter to you like it does for a lot of Americans it kinda hit you right in the heart because in a little way, we rolled out the welcome mat and showed them things that reflect us.

2006 Under Bush, I had to do security for the Lt Dan Band in Hawaii, loved it.

2008 under Bush we spent 3 days cleaning and “sprucing up” the base HQ at Kaneohe Bay for Eagles guitarist Joe Walsh to visit and he never showed.

2009 Under Obama, I had to spend my own money updating my service uniform and driving over an hour to go unfurl a giant American flag for the Chargers

2011 I spent an entire day driving from DC to quantico to get my prosthetic legs fitted in service alphas to go to the White House and have dinner with Obama, Biden and 34 4 ⭐️ Generals.

The payoff on all of that was morale. And it worked. This politician is either completely dishonest or has completely forgotten this aspect of leadership.

The good will bought for the Soldiers getting to interact with Kid Rock and all the Soldiers knowing a celebrity supports them without partisan reservations is worth a fraction the fuel we dump in the ocean everytime a jet lands on an aircraft carrier.

They are not principled beings applying a set of beliefs to changing circumstances, they are not objective reflectors of events, they are opportunistic, morphing, adaptive entities with fixed superficial features -- a hallmark pair of glasses, say; a famously wagging bony finger -- for recognizability.
