Rereading “Die Empty” by @toddhenry after a few years. (Amazing book btw). But it made me wonder why it’s not more normalized to take a similar mindset to where we live.
No one wants to wake up one day and say “who am I, why am I still here, and is it too late to leave?”
@fiago7 Come to Cincinnati. It's beautifully nestled on the Ohio river in the foothills of Appalachia, heavy German influence with great local breweries, and our arts & entertainment district is called "Over The Rhine".
@thesamparr@artists_voyage@thesamparr made billions growing a series of truck stop book stores at a time when the entire industry was focused on impulse purchases and sit-down restaurants. In my course, I'll show you the exact playbook he used to turn a $2k payday loan into a roadside literary empire.
OK @united - you’re winning me over. After a long time in arrival sitting on the tarmac waiting for our gate to open, your “take a breath - we’re holding your connecting flight, just please come directly to the gate” text was pitch perfect. Well done.
I’ve been releasing the same weekly podcast since Nov 2005. 21 years.
7 books, hundreds of keynotes and workshops later, I’m still grateful I didn’t give up in 2007 when it got super hard for a minute. I was SO close.
@jayclouse We want frictionless community, which isn't really community at all. It's only community when we are willing to bend to one another. Unfortunately, we all carry little devices in our pockets that whisper "you are a god".
You know what I genuinely miss? Road atlases. Every person just had this 100 page book of maps in their car that they would pull out to figure out how to get places. I would pull it out just to explore maps of parts of the country. Just hits different than Google Maps.
@FOX19Joe Was upset at first about it, but actually worked out for the best. Spotlight game, bonkers fans and environment, SWIM TEAM!... just a fun brand of basketball on the national stage.
@LanceMcAlister@MiamiOH_BBall Having been to several games this year, this team is just a blast to watch. Foot on the gas up 7 with two minutes to go, chucking 3’s five seconds into the shot clock. Organized chaos. I mean, it’s just fun, team basketball.
