@Apple@AppleSupport
Apple Support just told me something that is absolutely insane.
Someone apparently deleted one of my texts and marked my number as spam. Since then, Apple’s system repeatedly flags my phone number and disables iMessage activation on their servers rendering my iMessages useless on my phone.
The result? I receive messages on my Mac, but not on my phone.
I spent hours troubleshooting this — only to have Apple tell me the “solution” is to get a new phone number, request to have my number re-registered every time which takes 24 hours (which has happened twice in 3 days, or switch to a non-Apple phone and not have to use iMessage.
Seriously, @Apple?
A legitimate phone number can apparently get trapped on a spam list with no way for the customer to permanently resolve it.
I’ve been an Apple customer for years. Telling customers to abandon their phone number or leave the Apple ecosystem because of a spam classification they can’t control is unacceptable.
Apple: fix your iMessage spam/number-blocking system and give customers a way to appeal and permanently resolve false positives.
