OTD 2023: The Ricky Karcher game!
The #Reds beat the Royals 5-4 in 10 innings.

The Reds scored in the top of the 10th and handed things to reliever Ricky Karcher.

In dire need of a fresh arm, the Reds had called up the rookie earlier in the day. He had a 9.27 ERA at Louisville, with 34 walks in 22.2 innings.

He threw 21 pitches, just 9 for strikes. He walked his first batter on five pitches. He almost hit a batter in the face who was attempting to bunt, fouling off the pitch in self defense. With one out, a double steal put the tying run on 3rd and winning run on 2nd. But he got a flyout to end the game.

In his excitement, he dropped a ‘holy shit’ during his postgame comments on TV.

It’s his only MLB appearance.

I see he's made one appearance in the Mexican League this season.

It was the Reds 3rd straight win on the way to a 12 game winning streak.

13. Ate the “Beluga” sushi boat on the reg in Hyde park Square
14. Sat w/charlie sheen as he smoked a cig in the Queen City club.
