Everton kicked off the inaugural Football League season with a 2-1 win over Accrington (NOT Stanley) at Anfield on September 8th 1888. 12,000 fans were in attendance. #EFC#EvertonHistory
As we celebrate the career of one of the Toffees’ great captains in Seamus Coleman, this evening, it’s worth noting that today marks the 93rd anniversary of the birth of Bobby Collins. Joining from Celtic in 1958, Bobby was instrumental in driving the team forward. An inspiration
@FrazHoehle A breakdown is required because there are too many cowboys. I've witnessed tradesmen say they will do something, not provide it in a breakdown and then say it wasn't provided in the quote. This should be changed to "stupid shit tradesmen do... "
@PED7@SteveBaum10 From where you are sitting. Israel is surrounded by countries that want the Jewish race and nation of Israel wiped off the face of the earth. The Israeli government has a difficult job trying to protect the Jewish people. There is no solution to the conflict.
@pinpointzero@PED7 I understand you and I used to believe the solution was to ban guns. Criminals will still have weapons but people's freedoms will have been taken away.
@planetfaz Branthwaite is 21. Broke into the Everton first team this season, as a starter. Just went up against the best CF in world football. There is no such thing as overnight success. Development takes time and Branthwaite will continue to improve.
@NFLUK@SkySportsNFL@NFLonDAZN Pro bowls have progressively become worse by the year for the past two decades. If this is the standard, get rid of the Pro Bowl in my opinion.
@Yameff8@kennysdink@JeffWallner I told you the "couldn't afford" was a myth, which it is. Everton didn't leave Anfield because we couldn't pay the rent. After we won our first league title, Houlding put up the rent from £100 to £250 amongst other demands. We declined and opted to move to Mere Green Field.
@Scorgie_95@kennysdink@Yameff8@JeffWallner Absolutely, Houlding wanted the exclusivity of selling his beer. All this came off the back of Everton's first league title. https://t.co/jHxBTAEgA2
Everton's success created a bitter dispute with Anfield's land owner, John Houlding. The club's growth in stature prompted Mr. Holding to increase rent from £100 in 1884 to £250 by 1890, amongst other demands! Everton played their last home match at Anfield in April 1892. #EFC
@kennysdink@Yameff8@JeffWallner Houlding tried to put the rent up, even after we contributed to paying for a stand and were later compensated for, once we moved to Mere Green Field. Houlding later tried to take the Everton name but was told no!
@SkySportsNFL Anywhere apart from the Super Bowl, unfortunately. The Lions were fun to watch this year. Hopefully, they can get back to the playoffs again next year.
@NFLUK Jim Harbaugh will be the best thing to happen to Justin Herbert. Herbert was poorly coached in recent seasons. The AFC West divisional games will be competitive and must-watch. The Raiders need to pull their finger out ASAP or risk living in the shadows for another decade.
