art as "consumption" is something that is never going to stop being distressing to me. viewing books, manga, movies, stories, paintings, as something to be "consumed" and moved on from is something that just belies an empty, dead-inside society.
I love the game to death but the "E33 is the best JRPG ever made" and "E33 is the first good JRPG since [insert JRPG from the 90s]" stuff is starting to feel borderline racist. Also, it's not a JRPG, it's JRPG-inspired.
As someone who already has That Game in their top 3 of all time, the new discussion around it is so fucking insufferable. Both from "fans" and haters. I just want both sides to stfu lol
