🇦🇷 For Argentina’s first goal, his subtle step-over was the key moment. It allowed Lionel Messi to run onto the ball and finish brilliantly, setting the new all-time World Cup scoring record.

Almada won’t get the official assist because he never touched the ball, but that clever dummy created the opportunity. Without it, Messi doesn’t get the chance to run onto the cut back so perfectly.

Sometimes the most important contribution is the one that never shows up on the scoresheet.

Another wholesome moment from the World Cup. 🇯🇵

Japan manager Hajime Moriyasu, who has guided his side to victories over Germany, Spain and England in recent years, spotted Harry Kane and asked the England captain for a selfie. Kane was more than happy to oblige. 🤳

But it was Moriyasu’s reaction afterwards that stole the show. The Japan boss couldn't stop smiling and looked absolutely delighted by the moment. 😀👏

England's opening game is in 6 days time and we all need to prepare... for watching Three Lions games with people of a different generation...

We are all going to hear a lot of; "why is Harry Kane dropping so deep?" "He needs to be in the box!" "Lineker didn't do that!"

I have prepared a script for you to use in that eventuality...

1) Dad (it is generally Dads)... we have a bit of an Argentina/Messi situation, where our best goalscorer is also our best passer
2) Harry Kane has done this throughout this season.
3) He ended up scoring 61 goals in 51 games in 25/26... he knows what he's doing
4) And... more importantly... Bayern scored 184 goals in 55 games... he was the central pillar of the most devastating attack in Europe... making those he played alongside better!

So if he's still dropping deep in the 75th minute with the score at 0-0... can we please not all collectively panic...

Back the player that has scored 26 more goals than any other England player IN HISTORY!
