Since Monday morning we’ve been in Italy.

We came to visit the physiotherapist who has been guiding us from the beginning, the one who helped us understand how to support Victor in becoming independent, gaining autonomy and learning to handle things on his own.

Because he is capable.💙

She was very happy with Victor’s progress.
As parents, we sometimes feel like things are slowing down… but in reality, Victor has become more motivated, and with his long orthoses he can now walk on his own.

He’s been training a lot in the last weeks and we can see the results.

The plan now is to continue with these current orthoses to strengthen his walking even more, and then move to the next level: a new type of orthoses with mechanical locking joints, which will require more effort from Victor, but also bring bigger improvements.

If everything goes well, February will be the upgrade moment. 💪🏼

Right now, we’re also preparing special night orthoses (to encourage knee flexion) and small flexible ones for playtime and to fit inside his shoes.

The video below is from last night, the first time Victor walked inside a Lidl supermarket, choosing products and putting them in the cart all by himself.

For most people this is nothing.
For us, it’s huge!

Two years ago, on May 10th, 2023, Victor received Zolgensma, an injection filled with hope, strength, and a future.

Just three days ago, we returned from Oradea after two intense weeks of DMI therapy.

And today I’m sharing something with you that moved us to tears.🥹

It all started with #TogetherforVictor, a dedicated website to raising funds for Victor, a child suffering from Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) Type 1. His family aimed to gather over $2+ million for life-saving Zolgensma treatment and therapies, as this condition impacts his motor functions and can be fatal if left untreated. The treatment needed to be administered before he was turning two, making the fundraising a life-saving race against the clock:

In their ask for help, Victor’s parents @dnsv123 shared their story with the formerly #ElrondNetwork #community, now #MultiversX, and so many builders joined in and contributed. To widespread the story and help with fundraising, the @Together4Victor #NFT project was created.

10 months since we had the Zolgensma shot 🙌🏼

Victor evolved, he’s fighting like a champ, he is like a super athlete at the moment, having therapy 5 times a week. 🙌🏼

Not pushing him, he has a good relation with his physical therapist, he basically doesn’t feel like he is having a therapy session , it feels like playing! 🙌🏼 He enjoys every moment! ❤️‍🔥
