i'm in love with this quote:
"if you're persistent, you'll get it. if you're consistent, you'll keep it. and if you're grateful, you'll attract more of it."
I fear the hottest relationship dynamic is when a woman acts like a chaotic little creature and the man finds it genuinely hilarious instead of spiritually exhausting. Like, he’s not trying to tame her he’s just entertained, deeply fond, and occasionally wondering what the hell is going on 😭
my therapist told me, "stop assuming people are mad at you. Stop attempting to read people's minds. stop trying to manage the thoughts and emotions of others. let people be in charge of themselves. if they have something to say to you they will and if they don't it is their responsibility not yours. overthinking kills happiness" and that hit me like a brick.
After a certain age, your parents slowly become your children. They ask simple questions, repeat stories, and depend on your patience the way you once depended on theirs. Very few understand this role reversal. What looks like innocence or inconvenience is really time coming full circle. Don't correct them harshly. Don't rush them. Care for them the way they once protected you. This is not a burden. It is repayment.
padahal hatimu masih ingin menetap,
adalah bentuk tawakal yang paling berat
Karena kamu percaya rencana Allah lebih indah dari keinginanmu. “Wa ‘asa an takrahu syai’an wa huwa khairul lakum.”
understand that your friends don’t wanna talk every day. understand that your sig other doesn’t wanna be lovey dovey or super indulgent everyday. lots of people need rest from performative emotions. all people need rest in general. it’s okay. it doesn’t mean they don’t love you.
someone once told me “emotional intelligence is the discipline of sitting with a feeling long enough to understand it before you hand it to someone else” and that honestly changed how i move.
No offense, but no one is forced to sit around and wait for you to decide whether or not you want to build with them. If someone else shows up prepared and willing while you’re still debating, don't be upset if the position isn't open for you anymore.
It’s attractive when your partner can educate you on topics you lack knowledge on. That’s a different kind of intimacy. I want to learn, not be talked down to.
