Failed nursing student here. Does anyone have any idea of more hands on clinical jobs that you dont need to be a nurse for or can do short courses? Be a shame for the last 4 years of my life be a waste and £51k and nothing to show for it to just be a carer again.
I never imagined going to uni, never thought I was "smart" enough. Being dyslexic definitely makes it more difficult with information sinking in slower, taking a lot longer to research and write assignments. However, it doesn't make it impossible, with the right support.
@Emily_PUNC22 I never thought about getting one of these for lectures until they got handed out to us. I often sit there figiting with a pen. These toys don't help me with when my Trichotillomania plays up but these are great at other times. Love that we get given these sometimes 😀
I need to upgrade my laptop due to my current one being about 10 years old and extremely slow. Looking for recommendations, it will mostly be used for uni work.
@poppygibsonuk@rickriordan Yes, they were mine, they passed died 4 years ago. I also had a couple of bumblebee ones, too. In the photo of the ivories, it was a bit of honeydew melon, here with bumblebees is cucumber. They would have a slice of mushroom too. Only one of each, couple times a month.
First proper lecture and seminar resitting the module with my new year 2 cohort today. Any anxieties I had about not knowing anyone banished on induction day. Everyone has been so welcoming and friendly ☺️ #punc23
Enjoying some leisurely reading to help ease the anxiety of joining a new nursing cohort next week to repeat my second year. If there are any #punc23 on here from Truro, please do send a message to say hi 🙂
An important day for the country to make our voices heard. It's a chance to vote for what we believe in or, in most cases, vote against what we dont. I have only been voting since 2019, it's never too late to start. #dogsatpollingstations#EveryVoteCounts
Sad day today. We found a fledgling in our garden. Initially appeared well, slight head till but walking and flapping OK. Monitored over a few hours but had to take it to emergency vets due to laying on its side and appearing lethargic. Unfortunately, it had to be euthanized:(
@AlicePUNC21 As a second year student who is currently not enjoying university or placement (despite a nice team/area). Tell me it gets better. Had feedback the other day saying "I expected you to be more confident, it appears you are standoffish". I have always struggled with confidence :(
A cockchafer (may bug) knocked on the door to say hello tonight 🥰 I love this time of year and the excitement it brings of different animals emerging in our gardens. Love all creatures, great and small ☺️
12 years ago today, I lost my dad due to lung and brain cancer. He spent his final days being cared for by the amazing team at St Julia's hospice. I am now a 2nd year student nurse waiting to find out if I have been luckily enough to get accepted there as my optional placement🤞
Had a great first week of placement. Starting to learn about blood transfusions, iron and immuoglobulin infusions and today I got to take blood from patients for the first time. The team I have worked with have been lovely and encouraging, which has helped my confidence already 😊
