John 3:16

Some later manuscripts read “his only Son” instead of “the only/unique Son.”
The Greek word μονογενής (monogenēs) is translated differently:
“Only begotten”
“One and only”
“Unique”
“Son of God” is understood as a title of honor, not literal or divine sonship.
Jesus’ miraculous birth does not make him God, since Adam had neither father nor mother.

And do not say, ‘Three’; desist—it is better for you. Indeed, Allah is but one God. Exalted is He above having a son. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. “They have certainly disbelieved who say, ‘Allah is the Messiah, the son of Mary,’ while the Messiah has said, ‘O Children of Israel, worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord.’ Indeed, he who associates others with Allah—Allah has forbidden him Paradise, and his refuge is the Fire. And there are not for the wrongdoers any helpers.”

Mark 14:61–62

“I am” is understood as answering that Jesus is the Messiah, not as claiming to be God.
The “Son of Man” passage is understood as describing authority given by God.
