On this day five years ago, the Florida State and college football worlds said goodbye as coaching legend Bobby Bowden passed away at the age of 91. At the helm for 34 years, Bowden led FSU to 377 wins, 12 ACC titles, two national titles and 14 straight top-5 finishes.
In 2013, Florida State went 584 straight minutes of game time without trailing an opponent.
They trailed Boston College 17-10 with 1:50 left in the 2nd quarter on September 28th, 2013, and then did not trail again until the first quarter of the National Championship against Auburn on January 6th, 2014.
The Seminoles went a span of 100 DAYS during the season without having fewer points than their opponent at any time in a game.
FSU also did not trail at all in the second half of a game the entire season until the National Championship.
Exactly 50 years ago to the day (January 12th, 1976) - Florida State University hired Bobby Bowden.
The rest is FSU history.
Happy hiring Anniversary to the GOAT.
