Wow guys what a week at @EFDevcon. Met some fantastic people from the crypto space. I've included some of my favourite pictures I took across the week below. I'll include some of my favourite spots to eat and drink, we stayed in Palermo within BA so quite a few are from there.
I guess it will be like a mini blog if those are even still a thing. Anyway...
Trip didn't start great after landing in Amsterdam for our transfer we had boarded the flight after a short layover only to have to deboard around 350 passengers and change to an entirely new plane because the left engine was cooked. Once we had gotten off, the check-in system went down at the new check-in desk. Honestly couldn't write it but yeah, 3 hours later than scheduled we were ready to fly 13 hours to Buenos Aires. Flight was pretty if not a little turbulent.
Apple Pay was hit and miss in BA, it worked in some stores and some others it didn't. I can actually shill @joinpeanut hard for how easy it was to pay in most places. A lot of locals use a payment app called @mercadopago and you can use Peanut to interact directly with it to pay in crypto almost instantly, pretty sure their fees are currently sponsored too! Not sure if that's just for their beta. Anyway, 100% if you're going to Argentina (well BA at least). Use Peanut, it's sick.
@cabify_arg for transport. Super cheap, reliable and fast. My experience with local taxis were they were just a rug. When we landed at EZE a taxi driver wanted 200 USD to take us to Palermo and on Cabify I paid $30. Uber works too but I found Cabify faster the majority of the time.
For breakfast in Palermo there's a Cafe called Kopi. Pics below of the food. Absolutely insane. Their staff also spoke a little English which is always useful. A must visit is Fervor, which serves some of the best steak I've had anywhere in the world so thanks for the recommendation @magnusweb3 & Jason from @CertiK.
If you just want food delivered after a long day we used Rappi which is the doordash/uber eats of LATAM. We had to put a gov ID number to register but a quick search online for a generator will do the trick for you. Sorry not sorry.
Arbiverse by @arbitrum was out of this world. Great to meet @ajwarner90 and brush shoulders with some of thee greatest minds in crypto, truly. We even got a mention during AJ's talk at the event, you can see it on their livestream vod and had to play it off all nonchalant but we were stoked. Arb are definitely invited to the cook out, the best BBQ I’ve ever been to.
Bumped into the legend himself @0xThiru at Arbiverse, fortunately he was not in me… just Argentina but I did fanboy hard and get a selfie. Cheers bro.
CertiK & @DogeOS hosted 2 great private events at an absolutely beautiful mansion in the heart of BA. Really appreciate the invite guys, @momentumxglobal absolutely killed it. Great job Max and the team. CertiK had a VIP Mixer with some really interesting attendees, honestly some of the best people I met on the entire trip. With us being in audit with them currently it was great to chat and meet people face to face. Doge was full of all sorts of characters as you would expect, party was lit though.
Closing thoughts... I'll definitely be in Mumbai for the next one, hopefully I book it a little earlier this time rather than a week before and our flights and accommodation won't cost me the equivalent of a downpayment on a 1 bed flat in London.
If you made it this far, shout out you.
TLDR: Devcon was lit; food, wine and friends. Oh some business too. Promise.
Also if we met and didn’t connect but you want to, hit me up. DMs open.
Most people quit an inch before the jackpot. The difference between luck and success is staying in the game when others walk away.
We built a casino that never quits, fully on chain, transparent and fair from day one.
Sorry to hear about this. This is exactly what happens when you trust centralized casinos. They hold your funds, hide their data, call it a “risk review,” and vanish when you ask for proof. No transparency, no audit trail, just excuses.
We would love to have you over at Vault777 as with us, this can’t happen. Our games are fully on-chain, every result is verified by Chainlink VRF and payouts go straight from the contract to your wallet automatically. No middlemen, no manual approvals, no having to DM owners on TG for your funds when you’ve already won.
Centralized casinos can freeze or refuse a payout whenever it suits them. We built Vault777 so that can’t exist. You win, you get paid, period. Fair odds, transparent code and every outcome provable by anyone. That’s how gambling should be.
As a lifetime degen who's hit every table from Monaco to Vegas to sketchy offshore dens, I wanna shoutout @Vault777Casino.
On-chain setup with Chainlink VRF for fair play, SDK for creators to build games (DAO-voted in, they get 5% fees), low 1% edge, bet-to-earn tokens etc..
I'll be diving in early, as is my usual.
Eyes on this one boyos will collect clout on this later
