Camai. I’m @Qacung, I want to share a bit of my research and thoughts on blockchain and DeFi technology and the role it could play in Indigenous communities, especially considering the layers of governance of Alaska Native systems post ANCSA.
Colonial powers have controlled our lands, our resources, and forced us into a monetary system foreign to our own. They imposed systems that kept us dependent, excluded us from institutions, and extracted our wealth.
Let’s work with a financial system that's as resilient as our cultures, decentralized, transparent, and truly ours! Decolonized Finance via DeFi (digital currencies) offers the monumental shift: sovereignty, cultural revival, & new paradigms. Let’s reclaim our economic destiny and sovereignty. #DecolonizedFinance #AlaskaNativeSovereignty @AhtnaInc@AleutCorp@ArcticSlopeCF@Native_Mvmt
A Pan-Arctic Vision
The Inuit Circumpolar Conference connects Alaska, Canada, and Greenland.
A pan-Arctic DAO could pool resources from all three, critical minerals, fisheries, cultural tourism and generate shared sovereign yields.
The Inuit Nations don’t end at colonial borders.
Neither should our economy.

Why did SWIFT select these eight digital assets for ISO 20022 integration?🙇♂️
XRP, XLM, XDC, HBAR, IOTA, QNT, ALGO, and ADA each address key weaknesses in the legacy SWIFT payment model.💯
Together, these eight tokens offer faster settlement, lower costs, stronger transparency, and more efficient liquidity management. ✅
Each brings distinct infrastructure advantages that help solve the delays, expense, and opacity that have defined traditional cross border payments.
As the financial system moves deeper into ISO 20022 adoption, these 8 platforms will continue to stand out as core technologies for the deployment of next generation financial infrastructure.🔑
“Therefore, more will be heard about these initiatives and projects as the migration process to the ISO 20022 standard progresses.”😏💨

I've incorporated hundreds of pages of Democrat priorities in the Clarity Act: 33 Dem-driven edits in Title I alone, 23 new illicit finance sections, 30 more CFTC wins, 3 entirely new titles Dems wanted. That's 100+ compromises — yet still not enough for some.
"Perfect" stopped being principled months ago. Now it's just an excuse not to legislate. We have to pass the Clarity Act NOW.
294-134 in the House.
15-9 out of committee.
On the calendar since June 1.
Still no floor vote.
The Senate isn’t dragging its feet by accident, it’s dragging its feet on purpose.

With #Pamyua, we’ve always believed tradition and innovation aren’t opposites.
Inspired by Yup’ik, Iñupiaq, and Tsimshian traditions and put them in conversation with global sounds.
#DeCoFi#DeFi is the same idea — ancient reciprocity principles, running on blockchain rails.
Innovation IS reclamation.

ANCSA (Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act) was signed in 1971.
Nixon ended the gold standard in 1971.
Alaska Natives gained land “rights” the exact moment the U.S. financial system was restructured to benefit U.S. markets.
Coincidence — or design?
Either way, #DeCoFi#Defi is the answer.
“What was once only available to institutions is now accessible to individuals.
You become your own bank.”
For Indigenous peoples who’ve been denied loans at rates 20% higher than non-Natives, this isn’t just finance.
This is reclamation.

The Call: This is not financial advice. This is a call to action.
To tribal leaders, ANCSA corporations, Indigenous entrepreneurs, and global allies:
The tools for sovereignty exist. The moment is now.
Share this. Build with us. Let’s rewrite history through code, culture, and community.

Camai. My name is Qacung Blanchett.
I’m an Alaska Native advocate, member of @Pamyua, and I’ve spent years going down the blockchain rabbit hole.
What I found changed how I see sovereignty itself.
This is a thread on Decolonized Finance — or what I call #DeCoFi 🧵
Culture as Capital:
DeCoFi isn’t just economic.
NFTs can hold Indigenous cultural assets — language recordings, traditional art, ceremonial knowledge — generating royalties that fund revitalization programs.
20 Alaska Native languages remain. All endangered.
Blockchain doesn’t just protect wealth.
It can protect who we are.
