At some point, y'all need to do deep introspection because how is it that your political class, actors, socialites, and even academics are all echoing the exact same hateful narratives? Someone I exchanged numbers with at an event two years ago randomly called me and mistook me for someone else. When I realized he didn’t even know who he was talking to, I played along for a bit. The conversation drifted into insecurity/politics/Nigeria, and the amount of bigoted nonsense he started spewing about Peter Obi and Igbo people was so vile that I had to hang up. I honestly can’t even repeat the things he said. What makes it worse is that this person lives here in America with the rest of us. Sigh. 🥲
