Try this before pitching a client, making an offer, or publishing your next piece of sales copy.

I call it the Objection Thing.

Whenever I’m writing a landing page, sales page, cold email, or making an offer, I edit for objections.

What could make this person say no?

Too expensive? Justify it.
Doesn’t trust me yet? Share testimonials or results. Doesn’t think they need it?
Isn’t convinced it’ll work?
Thinks they can do it themselves?
Doesn’t see why they should act now?

I write them all down.

Then I go back through my copy and ask myself: Have I addressed these objections? Have I given this person a reason to reconsider?

If not, I fix it.

Here’s a prompt you can use:

“I just wrote [insert copy type] for [insert offer] targeting [insert audience].

Here are the objections they might have: [list objections].

Read my copy and tell me which objections I’ve addressed, which I’ve partially addressed and which I’ve left unanswered.

Show me where the gaps are and suggest how I can address them without making my copy unnecessarily long.”

And I send it off.
