@KeithGave @MarcRyanOnAir Correct. Throughout this entire process, no one seems address what SY would never say publicly. The org was a mess when he arrived. He had to crash land the old, expensive, ineffective plane before he could try building the new one.

2) mistakes in over-signing FA’s to expedite build after no draft lottery luck.

3) SY needed to win now, but in that division, the org’s best move is to reset.

@JimCosta_ You can’t pretend it’s not a reality. It’s to his credit they did no worse than the second or third best player in ‘19 and ‘20 drafts. Lottery luck is real. You don’t think a Carlsson, Bedard, Fantilli, or Will Smith wouldn’t be a significant boost to this team??

@JimCosta_ The issue was always going to be that SY has to win now, but in that division that’s loaded with playoff teams It makes with where they’re at. Now you can reset a little bit and get younger prospects for your assets.

@seiderlarkin Not disagreeing, but can you do that in the middle of an offseason where your captain wants out and you need to sign your second best d-man before he gets an offer sheet? If carrying out a job search, I have to think other teams will want to take advantage of no GM at the wheel.
