A police officer in New Jersey has been arrested for killing 2 dogs after leaving his K-9 partners unattended inside his SUV for 7 hours from 8:30am to 3:30pm in the blistering sun.

The vehicle's engine was turned off, the windows were fully rolled up, and the temperature inside the police SUV was well over 100 degrees F.

Cody L. Henderson, 41, faces 2 third-degree counts of animal cruelty for knowingly or recklessly causing death by failing to provide necessary care, and several disorderly persons offenses related to inhumane restraint and animal neglect.

The 4-year-old Rip and 6-year-old Boomer will NOT receive a traditional, large-scale formal police funeral procession that is typically reserved for K-9s who die in active action.

This whole story is so infuriating.

A Fox cub which spent nearly two days with its head stuck in a plastic bottle has been rescued and treated for serious injuries.

The @ScottishSPCA sent a rescue officer to try and catch the cub in Glasgow on 26 June, but he ran into his den.

By that point it was thought the animal had been trapped in the bottle for at least a day.

The following day, after a member of the public called the charity's helpline, an animal rescue team carried out an extended search and made several unsuccessful attempts to catch the Fox before he emerged and was taken into their care.

The charity has re-issued a warning about the dangers of discarded litter to wildlife.
