Canadian soccer star, Alphonso Davies, was born in a refugee camp in Buduburam, Ghana in November, 2000. This is the structure he lived in with his family before emigrating to Edmonton, Alberta as a refugee at the age of 5. He is now one of the most successful players in the world. 🇨🇦
This is Sad!
For almost 30 years, leaders from both parties have set politics aside to honor the women veterans who gave their lives for this country at Arlington National Cemetery.
Then Trump and Hegseth shut it down.
Why? Because the ceremony recognized women.
This is an insult to every woman who wore the uniform, served with courage, and sacrificed for this nation.
Yesterday, @demwomencaucus stood with the women veterans Trump and Hegseth tried to erase and held an event anyway.
We see you. We honor you. We thank you. 🇺🇸
On December 31, 2020, US Rep. Jamie Raskin announced that his 25-year-old son Tommy, a second-year student at Harvard Law School, had died.
Four days later, Raskin posted a tribute that revealed, after a prolonged battle with depression, Tommy had died by suicide.
In a farewell note, the 25-year-old said, "Please forgive me. My illness won today. Look after each other, the animals, and the global poor. All my love, Tommy."
Tommy was buried on January 5, 2021.
The next day, Raskin was in the Capitol with his daughter and son-in-law during the Capitol attack.
Hours later, he started drafting an article of impeachment against Trump, and six days later, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi named Raskin the lead manager of Trump's second impeachment.
Today, Raskin is still one of the loudest critics of the current president, one of the most progressive leaders in Congress, and one of the strongest people — period.
Our current president bullies him on social media weekly.

Lagoa Misteriosa in Jardim, Brazil is a giant flooded sinkhole known for its crystal-blue water and incredible visibility.
With over 220 m (722 ft) of explored depth, it’s among Brazil’s deepest submerged caves—and its true depth is still unknown.
Our flag was fading, and our 40 year old flag pole had reached the end of its life, so we got a new pole and a new flag.
Unfortunately...I mistakenly ordered a flag that was a couple sizes too big.
I was going to return it, but my mother loves it.
So, may this flag on its maiden flight, fly for a long life, for the true north, strong and free!
As President, I would read 10 letters a day sent to me by ordinary Americans. At the Obama Presidential Center, we’ll have some of the letters I read — and responded to — every night. I still get emotional reading them, and it’s one of my favorite exhibits.
Today, I signed an Executive Order temporarily repealing bedtimes in the City of New York so that kids of all ages can watch our team in the NBA Finals.
As Mayor, you’re forced to make many difficult decisions. This was not one of them.
Go Knicks.
To our incredible Paralympians and Olympians: each of you reminds us that, as Canadians, we are all part of something bigger.
Thank you for inspiring a nation.
