Investigator Estrada lived to serve and protect others. He will be remembered always as a loving father, dedicated officer, and forever a hero. I thank his family for sharing his memory with me.

Last week, I attended the memorial celebration for fallen Cook County Sheriff’s Office Investigator II Cuauhtémoc Estrada on the 10-year anniversary of his death. To be with his family and friends showed me that his memory will live on always.

Like so many around Chicagoland today, I’m thinking about my longtime friend, Lin Brehmer. No one did more for music and the people of Chicago than Lin. I will miss him very much and I send along my sympathies to his wife and son.
