@MrMisterMini@MidlifeCrysis_ I was lucky enough to have had a 50/60hZ switch fitted to my Saturn from just about day one. PAL "optimisation" was generally horrific (with a few notable exceptions, such as VF2 and Panzer Dragoon Zwei), but I still found more truly special games on Saturn than I did elsewhere.
@MidlifeCrysis_ The Saturn's library contained at least one best-in-genre candidate for every type of game for the generation, if not more.
Sega Rally
Virtua Fighter 2
X-Men Vs Street Fighter
Panzer Saga
Shining Force III
NiGHTs
Burning Rangers
Panzer Dragoon 2
Super Puzzle Fighter II

@MidlifeCrysis_ Isn't it? I've taken my Saturn to retro gaming nights before, and this was the standout game of the evening! Got a better reaction than Mario Kart and Soul Calibur 2!

@TheBlueSanity@kgfch2waiting I'm very aware I'm starting to sound like a broken record here, but this *is* precedent, and it *will* be used to shape future policy. It might not even be within the Sony ecosphere, the same thing can be applied just as easily elsewhere. It is bad for all digital consumers.
@TheBlueSanity@kgfch2waiting The likelihood is that Sony may have been able to secure residual access to the content, but that would have cost them money that they hadn't budgeted for when initially working out their severance deal. It's not a great indicator where things will go in the future.
@TheBlueSanity You have more faith about that than I do. I personally interacted with the UK politician in charge of this last year regarding the digital preservation petition, and is was painfully aware she had no clue about most of the issues it encompassed.
