TEARS ON THE PLATEAU

In a coordinated attack on March 7, 2010, in Dogo Nahawa village of Plateau state; Muslim Hausa-Fulani militia killed up to 501 villagers, including many women and children.

Approximately 200 armed men attacked at night, shooting to create panic and using machetes to attack residents, hacking many people to death.

Survivors reported that the attackers were shouting "The time has come, you will see," and some attackers were recognized as having lived in the community before.
