Football at the heart of the Australia–China relationship 🇦🇺🤝🇨🇳
At an iconic Shanghai setting, Aussie Shanghai Port FC coaches Kevin Muscat and Vincenzo Ierardo joined former Matilda @gracegill9 and Chinese football legend Yu Hanchao to launch next month’s Australia–China Friendship Series between the CommBank #YoungSocceroos and China’s U20s.
Supported by the Australian Government through the National Foundation for Australia–China Relations, the two-match series builds on the AFC Women’s Asian Cup and FIFA Series - bringing China’s women’s and men’s national teams to Australia - and marks an unprecedented month of football engagement between our two nations this March.
The CommBank #YoungSocceroos will travel to China for two matches against the Chinese U20 national team as part of the Australia-China Friendship Series 🇦🇺🇨🇳
The tour is supported by the Australian Government through the National Foundation of Australia–China Relations (NFACR) and forms part of a broader program of football engagement aimed at strengthening sporting, cultural and people-to-people links between Australia and China 🤝

@teopellizzeri@aleaguewomen They drew ~20k fans for a Women’s national team match in Nepal recently too. Very unlucky to miss out on WAC but the trajectory on and off the field is amazing.
So exciting to have their star player in our league.

International diplomacy that only football can offer.
As Indonesia's economy grows, the opportunity that affords our country is enormous.
So too is the opportunity with their growing football ecosystem. Building on these relationships is crucial for the future.
@BabaGol_ Cristiano has been Joel’s idol for virtually his whole career. He once told me Ronaldo was like a “father” to him in terms of the level of influence and motivation. This would mean so much to him.
How good was that!?
Nerves of steel from a group of young men under extreme pressure in the shootout, but the truth is they played excellent, positive, winning football for the entire tournament.
So proud of this team. 🇦🇺
“It sends a very strong, powerful message, especially to young girls” - His Excellency Mr Samson Vilvil Fare, Vanuatu's High Commissioner To Australia, on the deeper impact of the ongoing #PacificAusSports Four Nations Tournament.
