Her name was Nathaly Ramirez.

She was 23 years old.

She was holding her 8-month-old daughter when the two of them were allegedly pushed off a 15th-floor balcony in the Bronx.

Nathaly died.

Her baby lived.

Police say she stayed wrapped around her daughter the entire fall. Investigators believe her body cushioned the impact and may have saved that baby’s life.

A neighbor heard an argument inside the apartment. Heard Nathaly pleading. Heard her mention her baby. Then a scream, and the impact.

Angel Carrasco, 31, the child’s father and her former boyfriend, was arrested after a manhunt. He faces charges including murder, attempted murder, manslaughter, and assault.

Authorities say there were previous domestic incidents.
